With Halloween fast approaching it's time to dust off those dirty and cobwebbed Halloween games for the kids. Depending on the style of party you are throwing you may be looking for Halloween crafts, icky sticky food games, some races and team games. A good selection of Halloween games and activities will keep the group interested and the party running smoothly.

One child pretends to sleep in a sleeping bag at the front of the circle. She puts out three camping items (binoculars, water bottle, flashlight, etc.) While "sleeping" the bear (another child) sneaks and steals an object. The class yells "Wake up" and the sleeping child guesses which item was taken and three chances to guess who the bear was.

A twist on a classic children's game, start off by cover the backs of several chairs with white sheets. Pin some black cardboard eyes and a ghostly mouth to the backs of the sheets and line the chairs up (back-to-back) with one less chair as there are children. Play spooky Halloween music as the children walk around the chairs. When the music stops, each child tries to sit down on a chair.

Card games are especially easy to use as educational tools for children. Playing the right type of card games can significantly enhance a child's mental calculating abilities, as well as problem solving skills.

When the music starts playing the children starts dancing and moving to the beat. They dance until the music is stopped then they should freeze even though they are in a difficult position. Whoever is caught moving is out of the game.

Team members must stand in a line one behind the other, with the object being to pass a lifesaver from the front of the line to the back of the line and back again, via a toothpick held between each player’s lips. If a team drops their Lifesaver they must start the race over again; the first team to pass their lifesaver up and back without dropping it is the winner of this challenging birthday party game.

One game to consider is called Settlers of Canaan. This game is based on a Bible story and allows you to use strategy and team work as well. No doubt you will enjoy the competition involved, and you will also enjoy the fun of coming up with strategies together and making treaties with each other as well.]

The classic Halloween Treasure Hunt is a great party games for kids of seven and up and will keep them entertained for a long time. Choose easy to find items and some that are well hidden. The children should be split into teams of mixed ages and given lists of the items that they need to search for.

In order to do this well there are a number of things that you will need. You'll want food, drinks, decorations and props. Also, just in case the children start to get bored, it's useful to have a few Halloween party games ready for them to play. Often, the kids themselves can organize their own games but, depending on the age of the children, it might be wise to provide adult supervision to prevent the play becoming too boisterous.
